Built in 1950-52, the Manufacturers Hanover Trust Building was the last addition to the Rockefeller Center complex. The model was begun as a SIG Demonstration of Homespace designer and was constructed from a scan of a photo of the building. The perspective opening view was the approximate camera view. Texture maps for the building were taken directly from the photo and altered in PhotoShop by Todd LeBlanc. Digital photos of the Barnes & Nobel storefront were taken by the designer and modified in Homespace Designer and mapped onto cut-out recesses in the ground floor. The actual entrance to the tower building is around the corner. Use the viewpoints to navigate to the entrance. The entranceway is an approximate model of the actual entrance created in Homespace Designer and then modified and animated in V-Realm Builder. The right hand revolving door has a mouse activated touch sensor and the center door is activated by a proximity sensor. As you move towards it an animation is activated. The Lobby Gallery is purely imaginary, as the designer had no access to the building to study the actual interior. The artwork in the lobby is the creation of Cynthia Toffee, <http://nj5.injersey.com/~toffey>, a friend of the designer.

The animated Street Scene shown in the screen shot is still under development and too large for reasonable download at this time.
